With NEKTON-Pro-Active

NEKTON-Pro-Active is used to promote the structure, function, and strength of joint cartilage. The combination of joint components glucosamine, chondroitin, and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) has long been very successful in treating joint complaints in humans and can be applied to animals.

Here, the components and their functions are described in detail.

Glucosamine, one of the main ingredients of NEKTON-Pro-Active, is a naturally occurring amino sugar in the body. It is available in several forms, with glucosamine sulfate being the most important for dietary supplements. This consists of about two-thirds glucosamine and one-third sulfur in the form of sulfuric acid.

Glucosamine performs important functions in the musculoskeletal system. It is a natural component of cartilage as well as part of the joint structure of ligaments and tendons.

Glucosamine serves to regenerate damaged cartilage. In both human and animal diets, glucosamine is present only in small amounts. Therefore, it can and should be supplemented through the diet. Orally ingested glucosamine is absorbed through the intestines into the bloodstream and transported to the joints to strengthen the cartilage structure.

The glucosamine used in dietary supplements and complementary feed comes from the shells of crustaceans.

Healthy Joints

Support and Mobilization

It is very often used in combination with chondroitin sulfate to treat joint inflammation.

Chondroitin sulfate, the second most common ingredient in NEKTON-Pro-Active, is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) produced in the body and belongs to the group of mucopolysaccharides. Chondroitin sulfate is also an important component of bone, cartilage, and connective tissues. It maintains the elasticity of cartilage in joints and intervertebral discs. Unlike glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate is a dietary component found in meat and seafood, especially in mussels and oysters.

The chondroitin sulfate used in NEKTON-Pro-Active is derived from bovine cartilage tissue.

Another ingredient in NEKTON-Pro-Active is MSM, which is known for its pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. It is organic sulfur derived from nature. It can be found in milk, eggs, fruits, vegetables, grains, and also in meat.

In general, sulfur is present in almost every cell of our body. It is an indispensable component of hormones, enzymes, and many amino acids. Additionally, it is a building block of collagen, which plays an important supportive role in connective tissue, cartilage, bones, tendons, and ligaments.

Studies in humans have shown that cartilage affected by osteoarthritis contains about two-thirds less sulfur than healthy cartilage. Joints and cartilage can only be fully functional if sufficient sulfur is available. It is a component of both joint fluid and the inner layer of the joint capsule. Cartilage regeneration is supported by MSM.

Manganese is a mineral that belongs to the so-called essential trace elements. Essential trace elements are vital and must be regularly supplied to the body. It is important for bone formation and bone structure. It also promotes the incorporation of glucosamine into the cartilage.

Selenium is one of the most effective antioxidants in the body. It supports the protection of cells from aggressive free radicals. With this function, it helps protect the cartilage substance in the joints from attacks by free radicals.

In short: The administration of NEKTON-Pro-Active protects, supports, and mobilizes all of the animal’s joints.
