Dedication That Makes a Difference
As part of our NEKTON donation initiative, we had the opportunity to visit Tierheim Pforzheim yesterday. Alongside delivering our donation, it was important for us to gain a personal impression of the shelter and the people who dedicate their time and energy to helping animals in need every day.
A Safe Haven for Many Animals
Tierheim Pforzheim cares for a wide variety of animals. In addition to dogs and cats, the shelter is also home to small mammals, chickens and roosters, birds and even tortoises.
Full Capacity and Intake Stop
At the moment, the shelter is operating at full capacity and has had to stop accepting new animals. This clearly highlights how urgent the need for support, responsible pet ownership and awareness truly is — and how vital shelters like Tierheim Pforzheim are.
Volunteers Make a Huge Difference
One particularly positive aspect that stood out to us was the strong network of volunteers. Many people regularly visit the shelter to take the dogs for walks. These walks are not only a huge help for the shelter staff but are also incredibly important for the dogs’ physical and mental well-being.
